The Pickwick Theatre Classic Film Series in Park Ridge will welcome actor Keir Dullea on September 18, 2019. Season Seven’s Opening Night will feature a screening of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) in the Megatheatre. In this landmark science fiction film, Keir Dullea portrayed astronaut David Bowman. He would later reprise the role in 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984). Keir will be interviewed onstage shortly after 7:00 PM by film historian Raymond Benson. The screening will follow at 7:30 PM.
Since 1957, Keir Dullea has appeared in more than 25 feature films including David and Lisa, The Hoodlum Priest, The Fox, Madam X, Black Christmas, Bunny Lake is Missing and of course 2001: A Space Odyssey. For his role in David and Lisa, Keir received a Golden Globe Award as 1963’s “New Star of the Year.” Keir has made more than 50 guest appearances on television series including Route 66, Bonanza, The Starlost, Law & Order, Castle, Damages and currently appears on the Hulu series, The Path. Broadway credits include Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, Butterflies Are Free and P.S. Your Cat is Dead. He will be seen this year, in the Polish film fantasy, Valley of the Gods, with John Malkovich and Josh Hartnett.
