Due to financial concerns, the Pickwick Theatre will close in January 2023. The theatre never fully recovered from the pandemic. The fact of the matter is that too many people have settled for streaming services and stayed at home. Additionally, fewer films have been released by the studios to theatres; production slowed due to COVID. As a result, the Pickwick will be forced to close its doors.
But not for good. It is, after all, a historic landmark.
The immediate future is uncertain, but we are hopeful that we will be able to continue the Pickwick Theatre Classic Film Series— at some point.
We can say, however, that our last scheduled film is January 11, 2023. We will be screening The Shawshank Redemption (1994) at 1 PM & 7:30 PM.
We’ll have more details on this event soon. Until then, we encourage you to get the word out. Please help us to fill that wonderful, 800+ seat auditorium one more time. Save the date! Save the theatre!
We’ll see you January 11…
