Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, for our season-ending screening of Jaws (1975) at the Pickwick Theatre. We had 753 patrons in attendance for the day with 650 in the evening. This was the ultimate summer movie, and we are so glad folks had fun with it.
It was a beautiful night to walk over to the theatre for a movie. The Jaws crowd was great– responsive yet respectful. Half the audience erupted in applause when Roy Scheider’s Martin Brody uttered the classic line, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” In addition, we had a cartoon and trailer before the show– and a small giveaway for the first fifty patrons who arrived.
We would like to thank organist Jay Warren for his pre-show music, co-hosts Beka, Diana, and Allison (with her dog Evie), and the Pickwick Theatre management and staff. And finally, thank you to Maria & Stanley for photographing the event. All photos below (as well as in our Photo Archive) are courtesy of Maria Melnyk.
We’ll be back this fall for our tenth season!

The first 50 patrons through the door had the opportunity to receive a print of this specially-designed poster, created by our hostess, Beka, and her mom.
