Park Ridge Goes Ape in Season 5 Finale

DSC02720

Our 50th anniversary screening of Planet of the Apes on May 16, 2018, was a fun event for the Park Ridge community. We are grateful to all those who came out on a beautiful night to support our season finale. We did eleven events this time around, and of the ten films that were programmed under the Pickwick Theatre Classic Film Series banner, we averaged 624 patrons a show! Season 5 has been our most successful season by far, and for that, we thank our regulars and fans.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our friend (and house organist) Jay Warren for another season of wonderful pre-show music. Thank you to our glamorous hostess, Monica, and to our ticket taker, Shannon– aka Director of Lobby Operations. All the presentations this season looked exceptional with the help of our projectionist, Jerry. We are grateful to have him up in the booth making sure everything is as perfect as can be. Thank you to the theatre staff, especially managers Kathryn and Tommy. Finally, a huge thank you to the Vlahakis family for allowing us to do these programs.

We are looking forward to Season 6 this fall. Since the theatre renovation is set to begin in early September, we are planning on returning in October. With the installation of a new, IMAX-sized screen, Pickwick Theatre #1 will have one of the largest movie screens in the state of Illinois. (In the top 1% we’ve been told.) We intend to take full advantage of the “Mega-Theatre.” With additional upgrades to the sound system– as well as the addition of a state-of-the-art laser projector– this will be an exciting time for us as we enter a new era for the Pickwick Theatre Classic Film Series.

We’ll see you in October when we open with… ?
