Daughter of Horror Legend Visits Park Ridge

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Pickwick Theatre on October 26 to support our screening of House of Wax with special guest Victoria Price, daughter of horror icon Vincent Price. Nearly 250 patrons attended, which is the largest crowd so far this season. The audience enjoyed listening to our pre-show interview onstage with Victoria. In addition to Vincent’s film career, we discussed his role as an ambassador for the visual arts. Since Victoria’s biographies and cookbooks sold out by 7:30 PM– we had three boxes of them!– we decided to add a Q&A after the movie as a bonus. For about twenty minutes until 10 PM, we took questions from the audience about Victoria’s legendary father. This was a wonderful experience for the community. It’s the sort of film history you won’t find at home watching House of Wax on TV!

Thank you to Victoria Price for visiting Park Ridge and sharing her memories of her father. She is an amazing storyteller and presenter (who is always on the move!), so we were honored to have her as a guest for our Halloween show. She really enjoyed being in an old-time movie palace “where they still play the organ”!

I would like to thank our hostesses, Beka and Diana, for all their hard work with this event. There were a lot of details, but they were up to the challenge of handling them. We would not have been able to see the Vincent Price movie trailers before the film without Beka’s help, and Diana helped us decorate the lobby– minus the wax figures– and assisted Victoria the entire night. Diana also spoke before the movie about Vincent Price’s influence on her own life.

Thank you to our guest organist David Drazin. This is the second time David has performed for us– both times at our Halloween events– and it’s always a treat to hear another musician’s unique style.

Thank you to Maria Melnyk for taking the amazing photos seen on this website. All the fan photos will be shared on our Pickwick Theatre Classic Film Series Facebook Page. Click Here!

Thanks go to the Pickwick Theatre management and staff for ensuring the best possible movie experience.

And finally, one last thank you to all the Vincent Price fans who lined up at 6:30 PM, hoping to speak to Victoria and get a copy of one of her books. We received so many nice comments as patrons were leaving on Wednesday night.
