Grease is Still the Word at the Pickwick Theatre

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 45th anniversary screening of Grease (1978) at the Pickwick Theatre on February 8, 2023. We had a total attendance of 516 patrons! It was the perfect night to venture out (no rain, no snow, and the temperature was near 40 degrees). There were several patrons who had either attended Taft High School (the inspiration for Rydell in the film) or were simply die-hard fans of Grease. Aside from them, there was one lady, Pat, who presented us with a sixty-year-old snapshot of what the Pickwick used to look like with the concession stand in the lobby; her husband had been the manager at the time.

Thank you to organist Jay Warren for the pre-show music; Laura (Jensen) Muresan for being our guest speaker and talking about her experience performing in Grease at Taft High School in 1983 (and meeting Grease creator Jim Jacobs); and Beka, our hostess, who was helping with the lines of fans streaming into the lobby near showtime.

Thank you to Kathryn and the Pickwick Theatre management and staff.
