“Bueller… Bueller… ?” If Ferris Bueller has taught us one thing– in a world that has changed so much over forty years– it’s that we all need a mental health day from time to time! Take a day off– or have your doctor’s note ready– and join us for this 40th anniversary screening of John Hughes’ 1980s teen comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986). High schooler Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick), faking a serious illness, takes off on a spontaneous trip through the Windy City with his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and his best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck). Hughes wrote the story in less than a week, but it has gone on to become one of the most loved comedies of all time– and one of the most famous filmed in Chicago. (See Wrigley Field as it was in 1985!) For the fans out there, come in costume as we pull out the ’61 Ferrari one more time for this forty year celebration. With Jeffrey Jones, Jennifer Grey, Charlie Sheen and Ben Stein.
