Cinerama History on Display

Thank you to the 231 patrons who attended our screening of How the West Was Won (1962) on January 10, 2024. We would like to thank organist Jay Warren, our hostesses Beka & Diana, and the Pickwick Theatre management and staff.

Additionally, we would like to thank film collector Carey Williams for bringing his Cinerama memorabilia to our theatre lobby. He had several pieces from a Cinerama projector, camera, and screen. He also made himself available for those interested in the history behind his collection and Cinerama itself. We are grateful for his enthusiasm and generosity.

The overwhelming consensus from those exiting the theatre was that HTWWW was a “great choice.” Having watched the 1 PM matinee, I would again stress that seeing this film in a theatre is a different experience from watching it at home. The sheer spectacle of the film, including its grand set-pieces, is quite impressive when experienced on the big-screen.

This was one of the can’t-miss films of Season 10.
